Hey, this is Mako with Pullman Marketing, and today we will be talking about the anatomy of a website!

So let’s start at the very top: the Navigation Menu. The Navigation Menu is located at the very top of the website. It is the top bar that gets visitors to where they want to go. It is basically the backbone of the website and provides structure. It should be clean, organized, and easy to navigate. Because looking at a disorganized navigation menu is like driving with unclear directions you’re gonna get lost along the way.

Now let’s go ahead into the Header, which is right below the navigation menu. Also known as “Hero Image,” or “Above the Fold.” And they can include things like some sort of image or tagline that shows visitors what they can expect on your website.

Next, we’ve got the Body, which is the largest area on your website and provides most of your information. That can include things like text, images, audio, or video.

Next, we’ve got the Sidebar. The Sidebar is a column that appears on the left or right side of your website. It encourages users to take a specific actio,n or display a certain kind of information. So things like email signups or other subscription forms; navigation links, ads or social profiles. And then one thing to note about the Sidebar is that on a mobile device, you may not be able to see it until you scroll to the very bottom of the web page. You may want to opt out of the Sidebar, just depending on who your audiences are.

Lastly, we have the Footer. So a Footer is located at the very bottom of your website. And it will include things like navigation links, logo, contact information. A Footer is basically a summary of your website.

So if a visitor can’t find what they’re looking for, they can find it right in the Footer. Another thing about Footers is that they can provide awesome SEO value!
